A visit from Angelique Monet is exciting, inspiring, educational and full of wonderful whimsy. It is a visit that both students and facility will not forget.  Inspiring children to write, create, and most of all to believe in themselves by letting go of the fear of failure.  Children are emboldened to step outside their comfort zone and bravely commit to something new.

One of a kind interactive props help students understand visually and physically that when we feed the worries that live in our minds it can actually bring them to life.

For example:
By worrying about a test…(what if I fail?  What if I forget? What if I run out of time?)  can cause real life physical negative effects such as:  poor sleep, headaches, stomach upset, and lack of focus.  Worry sets the stage for the exact things we don’t want and 99% of the things we worry about never happen.

Angelique Monet shows children how to quiet the worry.  How to push past the self-defeating negative talk in order to achieve their personal goals within school, sports, art, music, self-image and self-esteem.  The Bravest Worrier lives in each and every one of us and even when we worry we can still be brave.  Everything we want to achieve is right on the other side of fear. Angelique Monet will show your students just how brave they can be!

Grade levels:  K - 12

What to expect:
Each presentation is tailored for the grade level present in the audience. Students will learn about the fun and exciting process of being both the author and the illustrator.  Angelique Monet will captivate her audience with a theatrical reading of The Bravest Worrier that includes music and sounds to play along during her reading.  Engaging dialogue on how build confidence, self-worth and how to put these in motion today! Higher grade levels will have a hands on learning experience about the technology used to create The Bravest Worrier.

Time Frame:
Each presentation is 45 minutes with the exception of kindergarten which is 30 minutes.

RAVES and REVIEWS

Thank you for your visit to our school. You are such an amazing human being. From the way you handled over 100 kids at a time to the way in which you read to them, and then the  story objects students were able to see, smell, and feel at the end of your presentation, it was something the kids (and many of us teachers/moms) will never forget. The story is heart-warming and I know that more than one of us could relate 100%. You sweetly but powerfully sent messages of facing and conquering fears, and never giving up. Thank you for the transparency you shared your journey with the kids. This book is for sure one of my favorites of all time.

“One of the most meaningful and inspirational artists to present at GRACEPOINT School. Angelique was entertaining, sincere, compassionate, and inspiring as she presented “The Bravest Worrier” to our students. She creatively brought her beautifully illustrated book to LIFE and mesmerized all grade levels from 1st to 8th. Angelique captures her audience as an author and illustrator, while helping them understand they can overcome the “worries” that continually haunt them. What a gift! With our students she inspired a school-wide writing competition that was a positive learning experience for all. We are grateful for Angelique’s kindness and will invite her to come to our school every year to inspire and teach. I look forward to her next book! I highly recommend scheduling Angelique Monet to read and perform at your school or camp.”

“Angelique Monet’s visit to Jackson Primary was energetic, inspiring and motivational!  She captured our student’s attention as she brought her book to life through whimsical illustrations and warm encouraging words.  She was a wonderful inspiration for young authors and illustrators as she guided students through the process of how she used carefully detailed brush strokes and rich vibrant paint to bring her illustration of an antique lantern in her book to life!  To add to the fun and excitement the students were able to interact with a fabulous real life prop which was inspired and created from an illustration from her book.  Motivated by her own child’s experiences, she encourages children to face their worries and reminds them that they are never too young to be brave!”

“My middle school students recently had the pleasure of an author visit from Angelique Monet as she detailed the process of writing and illustrating her book, "The Bravest Worrier".  Ms. Monet described the process through which she wrote and illustrated the book and showed the students all of the different phases of the project. They were thrilled to hear from a real author and illustrator and they were amazed to learn that writing and illustrating a book is hard work, takes a lot of time, and is not something that comes easily no matter how talented you are. Ms. Monet captivated their attention with an engaging visual display, a demonstration of her illustration technique, and a book reading with flair. At the end she fielded my student's varied questions with a sense of humor and style.”

“I was very interested to see the artist/author visit for the "Bravest Warrior". We'd met before the book was published and I saw several of her beautiful illustrations. I was curious to see how it turned out. The interest level of our students, a group of 4th graders, was very high. They were so very interested in how the art work was created, the visit generated a new interest in several of the drawing applications on the ipads. Lots of questions were asked. The story empowered some of our more timid students and I heard them talking about the book after the talk. They had fun discussing things that make them fearful. I love the gentle way Angelique spoke with the students, and I believe they loved having her there. The book is appropriate for multiple age levels for various reasons.”

“Angelique Monet recently visited our school and shared her marvelous book The Bravest Worrier. She spoke with Kindergarten, first and second graders and each presentation was catered directly to the particular grade level. Angelique held their interest by reading the story she created for one of her daughters and telling her story of becoming an author and illustrator. The students were enthralled with the illustrations and story that helped them understand that you don't have to be big to be brave!”

The Bravest Worrier is a delightful story about a little girl who worries about everything, but then realizes she is wasting too much of her time missing out on all the fun things in life due to all the worry. It is a beautifully illustrated story and a lesson for all ages. I read the story to my twin girls who are nine years old, and I know it is a story we will read over and over again. Not only is the message in the story a great lesson to learn, but the beautiful illustrations really make the book. My girls kept asking me if the author was also the illustrator because they fell in love with the pictures. I would recommend this story for any child or adult. It is not just a story for girls as my two sons also loved the book. The author, Angelique Monet, visited our elementary school where she shared the story with the students and discussed the importance of being brave and to leave worry behind. The students were so attentive and captivated by the beautifully illustrated pictures, and I am so glad I was able to bring the story home to my own children.

"The Bravest Worrier addresses a common theme for children of all ages, worrying. With clever rhymes and beautiful illustrations she takes control of her worry and decides to be brave and take chances. “Be on your way WORRY! I no longer take advice from you! From now on I will be BRAVE and take a chance or two!” As the Librarian at a children’s hospital, we see patients everyday worrying about a myriad of issues. This book is a boundless, fun and engaging resource for our children. We have had the pleasure of having the author, Angelique Monet, do a reading for our patients. She brings with her beautifully crafted and appealing props that the kids love! Angelique is very engaged and involved when she reads and keeps the children entertained and interested. “After reading The Bravest Worrier I felt hopeful and free.  This story definitely brings awareness to some of the obstacles kids worry about throughout the day.  It also gives a solution for all their worrying.  My favorite part of the book was definitely the illustrations.  Each page so detailed and vibrant captivating my attention so much so I didn't want the story to end.  I applaud Angelique Monet for sharing a piece of her world with us.  I would love to see The Bravest Worrier on the shelves of every public library.  I know it will be a great addition to our collection.”

Author Angelique Monet mesmerized students and staff during her recent visit to Heritage Academy Elementary School. As a guest author participating in Gas South’s annual literacy week celebration, Ms. Monet’s captivating and interactive presentation of her renowned book, The Bravest Worrier was enjoyed by all.  The story was of high interest to her elementary school aged audience, who could easily identify with the book’s main character.  Angelique’s presentation was enhanced by the author-created artifacts (found in the book) that were displayed on her presentation table for students to see and touch. The downloadable app created by the author’s husband, added the finishing touch to this stellar presentation.  Thank you Ms. Monet for visiting our school!!

“I thought Angelique Monet was the best author we have had at MBCA. We have had many great ones, but she was above and beyond! She presented her material well, kept it interesting for all the ages she had in the session, presented the writing process, and had AWESOME props to keep our interest alive. The kids and I enjoyed Monet’s presentation immensely!! “
